Shaitaan Movie Review:
Star Cast: Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika, Janki Bodiwala, Anngad Raaj
Director: Vikas Bahl
R Madhavan's portrayal of Vanraj is truly haunting, as he brings an air of mystery and spookiness to his character, leaving you unsettled throughout the story. However, there are moments where the actor goes a bit overboard. Ajay Devgn's Kabir in this film is reminiscent of his role in the Drishyam movies, but it lacks the cleverness we saw in Vijay Salgaonkar. Ajay delivers a solid performance, although the story doesn't provide him with many opportunities to shine. Janki Bodiwala shines as Janvi, skillfully balancing the fine line between being possessed and terrified. Jyotika also does a decent job, but her character lacks the depth that Ajay's character possesses.
Shaitaan had the makings of a phenomenal supernatural thriller, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. While the first half was decent, it was the second half that turned into a jumbled and perplexing mess. The climax, rather than leaving you satisfied, leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, leaving you feeling deceived and longing for the meaningful answers that never come.
